Car hire Sardinia

The island of Sardinia, located in the very heart of the Mediterranean, allows its visitors to enjoy a unique natural environment, soft and rough at the same time due to its mountainous territory. Many first-time tourists have the impression of having arrived in a forgotten territory. This fact is due to the fact that there are large areas that remain completely untouched and are inhabited by deer, horses and all kinds of birds in a natural habitat.

Although it is a fairytale island, here you can also count on Pepecar to provide you with a car hire service in Sardinia that allows you to visit the island in its entirety. This island has a surface area of 24,000 km2 that has the charm of its quiet beaches and coves. The varied landscape, the wide horizons, the proximity between the marine environment, with its indented coasts and wonderful beaches, and the interior, of a rough and rugged beauty, contribute to design an ideal setting for all types of holidays, whether you make use of car hire in Sardinia or if you travel using another means of transport.

Cagliari (capital of the region of Sardinia), which opens out onto the largest gulf of the island, is visited and appreciated more for its wide urban spaces, its seascapes, its backwaters and its ancient fortifications than for its monuments. Cagliari's old part, such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria, Torres Marinas and the Castelo quarter, is worth a visit. Although it has a significant historical and artistic heritage, the whole of Sardinia is universally known for its marvellous natural landscapes.

The Costa Rei is situated in the south-eastern part of Sardinia, 60 kilometres from Cagliari on the Italian Strada Stratale (SS) road network. This coastline is spread over 8 kilometres of fabulous resorts and holiday homes. Costa Rei, has been built around its enviable white sandy beach and secluded natural coves that allow you to enjoy the tranquillity of the island.

Once in Sardinia, the province of Olbia Tempio should not be forgotten. Located to the north facing the Sardinian Sea, a narrow channel responsible for dividing the island of Corsica into two parts, and to the east facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. The variety of landscapes of the province of Olbia-Tempio, with sea, plain, hills and mountains, makes it an ideal place for different activities in contact with nature.

The same is true for Sassari, located in the north-western part of Sardinia, or Alghero, in the north-western part of the island. Both have beautiful beaches. The island of Sardinia can be visited in five or six days if you have a hire car to drive around the road network.
