The smallest of the Pitiusas islands has no airport, so the only way to reach Formentera is by sea, through the port of Formentera, also known as Puerto de La Savina. It is located in the northern part of the island of Formentera. We can reach this fantastic and peaceful Balearic island of serene beauty and breathtaking nature through Ibiza (arriving by plane) or with the ferry service from the cities of Valencia, Denia and Barcelona. Using the ferry service will also allow us to embark a hiring car from any of these ports and travel with it to Formentera.
Of course, we can also make a reservation on arrival on the island and enjoy our stay with a hired vehicle, which will give us plenty of independence for our travels. You won't regret it, because there is a lot to enjoy in Formentera, known as the last paradise in the Mediterranean, with a fantastic coastline made up of white sandy beaches of an almost cinematographic spectacularity.
To get to the centre of the island of Formentera it will take you approximately 15 minutes with your hiring car to cover the 6 kilometres that separate them. You will have to drive along the PM-820 road.
